Round nine, move six. The pawn on c4 can be taken en passant and that is the whole move: I had forgotten whether the preparation wanted axb4 or c4, some of the ideas were still there, and I played the one that opens lines.

He took. The engine calls 6...bxc3 an inaccuracy and wanted 6...Qd8 instead, which keeps him 0.41 in front and keeps the position shut. After the capture it has me 0.90 up, and over the remaining thirty eight moves the number never came back under 0.46. He told me afterwards that c4 was the move that threw him off.

The night before, he had told Kevin Narr he bet I was going to play the Wing Gambit. He did not look at it, because Narr told him it is a bad opening and he would work it out at the board. He took en passant, and from there I just developed everything with tempo.
